As we are adjusting to long distance learning, it is important to keep a growth mindset. Please click HERE to see some Growth Mindset posters that are needed for your learning task below.
Literacy Task for Wednesday & Thursday
(You will begin this assignment today and continue working on it tomorrow)
1. Take a close look at the Growth Mindset Chart and the FAIL poster in the link above. You can print these off if you need to. Brainstorm 2-3 words that make you think about Growth Mindset.
2. Choose one of the words that you brainstormed.
3. Create an acrostic poem using your word. Your poem should show your understanding of growth mindset and a sense of yourself. You can use a phrase too (see examples below).
4. Present your poem in a way that demonstrates your growth mindset.
Some examples include an original painting, drawing or anything else that you would like to create. Don’t worry if you don’t have pencil crayons or paint at home. You can create with just a pencil!
Remember that with a pencil, you can:
- Use a variety of thick to thin lines
- Use the side of your pencil to shade
- Apply different pressure to go from light to dark
- Use different items (finger, kleenex, paper towel) to smudge

- My acrostic poem is personal to me
- My presentation is neat and inspiring for others to see

Numeracy - Probability Continued

Numeracy Task:
MUST DO - You predict that when a spinner is spun several times, its arrow will land on blue more times than it will land on yellow. Sketch a picture to show what the spinner might look like.
CAN DO - Add a number line to show the likeliness of your arrow landing on blue.
GOT IT! COULD DO - Add a third colour to your spinner. How does adding the new colours to your spinner change the likeliness of your arrow landing on blue? Can you keep it the same? What about a 4th colour? Explain your thinking.
Share a picture of your spinner(s) or number line to your teacher on the Google Drive today. Name it Spinner _yourname.
