Literacy: 3 Things I'm Grateful for Today

We've all had to adjust to this new way of long distance learning. Although sometimes it's been challenging, there are always positive things we discover when we are experiencing something new.
For example:
1. Before covid, I always felt like I didn't have enough time in the day! I'm enjoying having more time to spend with my family at dinner time because nobody is rushing off to a hockey practice or dance lesson in the evening anymore.
2. Greta Thunberg is happy and so am I! The Earth is less polluted because less people are driving around everyday.
3. I am thankful that I've been able to connect with all of you through this blog!
What are 3 things that you are grateful for today? Create a way to describe and explain your ideas. Notice that I used different ways to start each of my sentences and included details in my writing. See the graphic organizers for ideas. Get creative! Feel free to draw pictures too!
Take a picture when you're done and share it with your teacher on the google drive. Remember to include the title of the assignment and your name.

Numeracy: WODB (Which One Doesn't Belong)?
Using your mental math skills, come up with as many reasons why each number does NOT belong to the other numbers in the box. Be creative and think beyond the obvious answers (Think outside of the box!).
Here's an example:

Choose at least one of the examples below where you know you will be successful. If you want to do more, go for it! Take a picture of your work just like the example above. Then share to your teacher on the Google Drive. Name it Numeracy and your name.

DPA: If possible, get outside for some fresh air! Go for a walk or a scooter ride around your block while maintaining social distancing. Want to stay closer to home? Stay in your backyard and throw a frisbee back and forth with a family member. Don't have anyone to play with? Create targets to shoot into and play on your own. DPA should be 60 minutes and can be split up into smaller portions of time eg. 2 breaks for 30 minutes each. If you can't get outside do DPA inside instead. See the DPA links on the side of this post.
Can you guess whose Learning Space it is? We randomly chose one from each of our classes. Don’t worry if yours didn’t get chosen for today. At some point, everybody will have had the opportunity to have their work shared on the blog!
