HOMEWORK FOR THE WEEKEND:

1) Read every night for 20 minutes.  Fill in your reading log and have a parent's signature.  Name it Home Reading _ Your Name. This is due on Monday.

Many of you should be nearing the end of your book. If not, you need to keep reading as we will be wrapping up your book and giving you your final assignment soon.

LITERACY: Continue with your daily home reading. Summarize or reflect in a thoughtful response. Remember that your reading entries will be used to contribute to your final book project. Each day needs to be a new entry. Write down the number of pages you read and have your parent sign. Your home reading log is due every Monday morning by 9:00 am.

Your graphic organizers are now overdue. We are still waiting for a few of you to hand them in.

Home Reading Check-In

By now you should be on your way to reading at night. This is your 2 day check in:

• Do you have your reading log printed?
• Has it been signed by your parents?
• Did you complete your first two summaries/reflections?

Remember that you will be submitting 5 days of reading activity to your teacher every Monday morning by 9:00. You do not need to submit it every day to us. These brief responses will also help you with information needed to complete your graphic organizers this week. So keep it up!

NUMERACY:

We are starting a new unit today...ALGEBRA!  Don't panic if you don't know what it is because you're going to learn that today.

MUSIC WEDNESDAY with Mr. Steeves:

"Camila Cabello created "Havana" because it reminded her of her Cuban-American heritage. When she wrote it she started to play the Latin piano riff first and then made up the song on the spot! It became a hit and was on the Billboard Top 100 for 7 weeks and was popular all over the world.


Instructions: as an option for this week's assignment, learn the song (music on the website) and record a 1 minute video of you playing it.
